About Me 

Dear Parents,

Welcome to second grade!  I hope you had a great and relaxing summer!  I’m thrilled to be your child’s second grade teacher and look forward to a great school year.  For most of you it will be my second year with you which I am very excited about!

I attended Sterling College and have a degree in both Elementary Education and Special Education for the Learning Disabled.  I have taught over ten years in both public and private schools.  I took time off to be at home with my boys and came back into the classroom two years ago to teach at Cottonwood -- I love being back in the classroom.  Both my boys attend Cottonwood Elementary.  Blake is going to be in fifth grade and Trevor will be in third grade.  My husband Brian works at Spirit AeroSystems and we love to do things together as a family.  I must not leave out our chocolate Labrador named “Buster”.  He is named appropriately because he is always busting into everything.

I believe that communication is very important.  I will be sure to update you on all that is happening in the classroom.  I am committed to providing your child with the best possible education and a secure environment.  I am fully aware of the importance of this, since I have two boys in elementary school.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call me at Cottonwood or email me at hachenj@usd385.org.
